At TutorYou’s Revision Courses, students have the chance to experience an intensive three-day course, in order to review the entire syllabus of an IB or IGCSE subject, while having direct access to exclusive TutorYou resources and past papers, to prepare them the best way possible in preparation for their final assessments. The entirety of the TutorYou courses lasts for a total of 9 days, and students are able to select from one up to three different courses for them to attend in that period of time. In the total span of 18 hours per subject, TutorYou’s tutors cover all the topics of the IB and IGCSE subject’s curriculum, giving students the opportunity to revise and practice by speaking with their peers and working on past paper questions. By the end of the course, the tutors will be assessing the students by providing them with a mock exam in timed conditions, to improve test-taking strategies and learn tips & tricks that help maximise the student’s score on the exam.

An important aspect of tutoring at TutorYou’s Revision Courses is to carefully group the students based on their predicted grades. From March 30th to April 7th, we hosted our flagship Revision Courses at the Bilingual European School in Milan, and what a journey it has been!

Our dedicated tutors flew in from various corners of Europe, armed with expertise, passion, and a commitment to excellence. Together, we embarked on a mission to empower students, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence they need to excel in their exams.

A key aspect of our approach was the careful grouping of students. By considering predicted grades and maintaining small class sizes, with a maximum of five students per class, we ensured an environment conducive to personalized attention and optimal learning outcomes. This strategy allowed our tutors to tailor their instruction to the specific needs of each student, fostering deeper understanding and mastery of the subject matter.

Our courses lasted a total of 9 days. Over the course of three days for each subjects, spanning a total of 18 hours, our tutors covered the entire syllabus and engaged in past paper practice with students. From Mathematics to Environmental Systems and Societies, Chemistry to History, our comprehensive revision courses covered it all. Through interactive lessons, engaging activities, and targeted practice sessions, we guided our students towards mastery of their respective subjects.

None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support and collaboration of the Bilingual European School in Milan. The revision courses focused on helping students understand the critical concepts that are crucial for achieving excellence in their exams. The courses were designed to be interactive to ensure that students could communicate more effectively with their tutors, and get all their questions and doubts cleared. The tutors spent numerous hours preparing and working closely with the students to help them understand every aspect of their respective subjects.

Over the nine-day course, students were given the opportunity to attend a variety of subjects ranging from physics, chemistry, biology to English, maths, geography and history. The courses provided an opportunity for students to explore different approaches to learning, understand subject material more comprehensively, and made use of revision techniques that would make exams more manageable, understandable and affordable.

The courses were designed to cater to different learning styles, ranging from interactive and visual techniques, to in-depth discussions, group activities, mock exams and practical work that helped students to deliver exam-focused results.

Since we spent Easter together, we all shared a giant egg on Easter Sunday and had a special lunch to celebrate, followed by a colomba! Our tutors all took part in the fun and we hope that they also felt the family environment we did. None of this would be possible without them and we are extremely proud to have created this wonderful network of individuals that, at the end of the day, constitute the future of our society! We are overflowing with joy and gratitude for being able to make a difference in students’ lives and personal development.

Thus far, we have received wonderful feedback from our students and their parents and we could not be happier to be able to meet everyone after such a long time spent on Zoom calls and virtual events. We would like to thank our partners at Flexworking (https://www.flexworking.it/) who offered us their space, as well as Flash Pizza in Piazza Bergamini, who welcomed us with open arms for lunch every single day.

Now that we have taken off again, there is no stopping us: Save the date because our next Revision Courses will be held between August 27th and September 4^th in person in Milan!

On Sunday, we had a great time celebrating Easter with our students and tutors. We had a lovely lunch all together and a giant chocolate Easter egg, and once the festivities were done our students returned to working hard to prepare for their exams.

The courses included three sets of group revision courses, each lasting 3 days. There were classes for range of subjects, including Business Management, Mathematics, Economics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Each class contained a maximum of 5 students, allowing more individual attention, participation, and better communication between students and the tutor. Tutors went over the entire syllabus of the subject, covering all the topics and using past paper questions to consolidate the students’ knowledge and prepare them for the exam.

We also had a variety of one to one private courses, in which students had the opportunity to have a more personalised experience which allows them to target specifically their strengths and weaknesses in the subject they revised.  Students in both years of the IB and IGCSE programmes participated in numerous courses to help them with their schoolwork and prepare them for exams.

Overall we are very happy with how the courses went, and would like to wish the best of luck to all of our students with school, their exams, and their futures at university! With groups of 5 students of a similar level and a tutor who has excelled in their respective subject (gained MINIMUM a grade 6, but most usually a grade 7) the lesson proceeds smoothly for 6 hours each day (with 2 coffee breaks and lunch in between) for 3 days: totalling 18 hours for a full revision course of one subject.

The alternative is a one-to-one course that lasts for 12 hours, 6 hours for 2 days. An unbreakable bond is formed in this period and the students learn to fully trust their tutor: who has gone through their same insecurities and fears just a few years before them!

In Summer, you’d think that revising is the last things students want to do – but TutorYou encourages them and pushes them towards their goal. After all, students who are taught by someone similar in age to them will feel a more intimate connection and will be a lot more lenient to open up and truly let themselves be helped.

This year they were held at Hult International Business School Milan and the EF Italia Headquarters in Milan. Without them we wouldn’t have had a welcoming environment, so we thank them immensely!

All a this would have never been possible without the diligence of students and the determination and drive of the tutors: together they formed the perfect combination of attitudes in order to face their subjects HEAD ON. Thank you to everyone involved!

They started in the 26th of September and ended the 3rd of September, everyday from 9:00 to 17:00.

The Spring Edition of our courses is particularly important as the IB exams are near and the students really need to focus on making the most of these days! 

All of our tutors are top IB graduates. They are now studying at, or have graduated from, some of the most prestigious universities in the world.

The classes were kept small, maximum four students per tutor, ensuring the possibility for a tailored all around learning.  

Each student had the chance to go over all their doubts, to brush them away before the IB exams!

This edition lasted two whole weeks, from the 6th to the 23rd of April, every day from 9am to 5pm.

However, lots of students took more than one course, with some of us even joining us on Easter.

But no worries, the revision courses are also a possibility to socialize and have fun! Easter lunch was spent opening (and eating!) a huge chocolate egg! 

A special thanks goes to all the students and tutors who participated, worked hard and made sure this edition ran perfectly.
