During the presentation, we discussed a number of popular destinations for higher education such as the UK, USA, France, Spain and the Netherlands! We also talked about the importance of researching different schools and programs to find the right fit for each student’s unique interests and goals.

We emphasised the value of studying abroad and experiencing different cultures, as it can help broaden one’s perspective and enhance personal growth. We encouraged the students to start thinking about their future education early on and to seek guidance and support from their parents, teachers, and educational advisors.

At the end of the presentation, the students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in a thought-provoking discussion about the various challenges and opportunities that come with pursuing higher education. We were impressed by their curiosity and insightful inquiries and are confident that they will be successful in whatever path they choose to take.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the parents and the team at IS Bergamo, especially Stephanie, for extending their invitation and participating in this activity. The event was well-attended by a diverse group of individuals interested in pursuing a master’s degree in business. Professor Rukare, an expert in the field of entrepreneurship, led the masterclass, sharing his insights and expertise with the attendees.

The session was highly interactive, with attendees engaging in lively discussions and asking insightful questions. Professor Rukare’s teaching style was engaging and informative, leaving attendees with a deep understanding of the concepts covered.

The venue, SPACES San Babila, was a perfect setting for the event. Located in the heart of Milan, the space provided an inspiring and modern environment for attendees to learn and network.

Each participating University offered insights on studying diverse subjects in different cities, as well as information on various types of Universities!

Our objective for this event was to cater to many different students and offer a balanced combination of very specialized and some fairly generic presentations. We would like to thank each and every one of our University partners for, once again, lending their time to support our activities and offer students valuable information:

Sessions such as “Perfecting your Personal Statement” by the University of York, “Life of a University Student in Geneva” by IFM Business School, “Studying at a Campus vs. City University”  by Lancaster University and “Introducing Russel Group Universities” by the University of Nottingham were meant to offer a more generic view on student life, types of universities and the application processes. On the other hand, subject-specific workshops went more in depth on particular areas of knowledge such as the Social Sciences (SOAS, UoL), STEM subjects (The University of Sheffield), Medical Sciences (UCAM – Universidad Cattolica de Murcia), Hospitality Management (Sommet Education (Glion, Les Roches & Ecole Ducasse) & Business/Finance (City, University of London).

Each University presented a different degree course from the scope of employability  Since education is arguably one of the most important investments for an individual, we decided to emphasise the practical focus of higher education in the UK. The courses presented ranged from Fashion Design to International Relations to Engineering, as our objective was to demonstrate that, with the right education, any path can lead to a successful and rewarding career. Also, given the ever-growing competition between young graduates, we wanted to assure prospective students that there will plenty of opportunities for them to excel in the workforce, as long as they know what factors contribute to employability and how to make informed decisions about their education.

The TutorYou team held a special session on writing the Personal Statement, which is one of the most important components of a University application to the UK through the UCAS platform. Being a registered UCAS Centre, we have access to all the informative resources, which we wanted to share with students in a structured and constructive way. The session was very successful and students seemed to sincerely enjoy it, which is why we are considering hosting similar sessions in the future.

Our partners from the British Council also delivered two sessions, both related to skills needed by young people to succeed in the workforce. The first concerned the IELTS exam, which is the most recognised English language qualification. A high level of English is somewhat of a necessity for any individual, since it is the most universally recognised language and almost always a requirement for entering any kind of job in any sector.

The second presentation touched upon soft skills, and particularly how to be an effective presenter. Though they are often overlooked, soft skills are a must in today’s fast-paced world. Being able to capture and maintain someone’s attention is critical for most jobs requiring communication with others, while knowing how to deliver a message effectively is a super-power on it own. We were lucky to have Mr. Bruce Warburton, a teacher in the British Council with extensive experience on soft skill education for professionals!

Overall, we were delighted to welcome students from all around the world, who had the opportunity to converse with academics and current students, as well as admissions officers from some of the most popular universities in the UK. We hope to hold more of these events in the future and thank our partners for supporting us continuously!

Three of our tutors led a workshop on the different admissions procedures regarding different European countries such as the UK, Spain, Netherlands and Italy, detailing the process and prerequisites needed for every country.

After the presentation, there was the opportunity to have an intimate Q & A session with the students, who had the freedom to ask whatever they wished: for any clarifications or further doubts.
