As the 8th year spent at the Bilingual European School in Milan, TutorYou proudly presents their 14th edition of the IB & IGCSE Revision Courses, which are aimed to prepare students who are looking forward to succeeding in their final exams and upcoming assessments in school. This year, TutorYou hosted the courses at the Bilingual European School in Milan, from April 19th to the 27th, and it has truly been an enriching experience!

At TutorYou’s Revision Courses, students have the chance to experience an intensive three-day course, in order to review the entire syllabus of an IB or IGCSE subject, while having direct access to exclusive TutorYou resources and past papers, to prepare them the best way possible in preparation for their final assessments. The entirety of the TutorYou courses lasts for a total of 9 days, and students are able to select from one up to three different courses for them to attend in that period of time. In the total span of 18 hours per subject, TutorYou’s tutors cover all the topics of the IB and IGCSE subject’s curriculum, giving students the opportunity to revise and practice by speaking with their peers and working on past paper questions. By the end of the course, the tutors will be assessing the students by providing them with a mock exam in timed conditions, to improve test-taking strategies and learn tips & tricks that help maximise the student’s score on the exam.

An important aspect of tutoring at TutorYou’s Revision Courses is to carefully group the students based on their predicted grades. By doing so, the classes are kept at a smaller size, allowing the tutors to focus on the student’s academic progress, weaknesses and strengths, throughout the entirety of the course. This strategy allows our tutors to tailor their instructions to the specific needs of each student, fostering deeper understanding and mastery of the subject matter.

From Economics, to Business Management, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry, TutorYou’s tutors are capable of revising the entirety of the subject, preparing students for their exams, through interactive lessons, engaging activities and targeted practice sessions. Our best tutors are flown in from all across the world to Milan to teach at our courses and to offer the highest quality of teaching possible.

TutorYou extends our gratitude to the Bilingual European School of Milan, whose support and availability allowed us to host the courses with the highest level of professionalism, assistance and great generosity. The Revision Courses would not have been able to be as accomplished without your great support and outstanding hospitality.

Our final and most heart-felt sentiments go out to our students, who have attended the courses with a bright and determined spirit. You all possess the qualities that are required for a student to have in order to achieve your greatest goals. Believe in your talents, your determination and knowledge, as they are all qualities that will allow you to embark on great journeys that will be presented ahead of yourselves.

Best of luck to all of our students with your upcoming IB & IGCSE exams! Make sure to stay calm, confident and to concentrate on each individual question carefully – you are capable of more than you know!

]]>

  1. Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW): l’intervallo di punteggio è 200-800.

3. Explore Real-World Applications

Mathematics is deeply connected to various real-life contexts. Exploring real-world applications can lead to interesting and original IA topics. Think about how mathematical concepts apply to fields like economics, physics, engineering, environmental science, or even art and music.

4. Ensure Sufficient Mathematical Depth

The IA should demonstrate a high level of mathematical understanding and complexity appropriate for your level. Ensure your topic allows for sufficient mathematical exploration. Avoid topics that are too simplistic or overly complex beyond the syllabus, as they may not showcase your skills effectively.

5. Research Existing Topics of IB Mathematics IAs

Investigate previous IA topics and examples to get an idea of what has been done and what is expected. This can inspire you and help you avoid choosing overused or clichéd topics. Remember, originality and personal engagement are key components of the assessment.

6. Formulate a Clear Research Question

Once you have a potential topic, formulate a specific research question or aim. A clear focus will guide your investigation and keep your writing coherent. Make sure your question is manageable within the word limit and time frame.

7. Consult with Your Teacher

Your mathematics teacher is a valuable resource. Discuss your ideas with them to get feedback and suggestions. They can help you refine your topic, ensure it’s appropriate, and advise you on the feasibility of your proposed investigation.

8. Plan Your Investigation

Before committing to a topic, outline how you will approach your investigation. Consider the mathematical methods you will use, the data you might need, and any potential challenges. A well-thought-out plan can prevent obstacles later in the process.

9. Evaluate Resources

Ensure you have access to the necessary resources, such as data sets, mathematical tools, or literature. Resource availability can impact the success of your IA, so it’s important to consider this during topic selection.

10. Stay Ethical

If your investigation involves data collection from human participants or sensitive information, ensure you adhere to ethical guidelines. Obtain necessary permissions and maintain confidentiality where required.

Selecting the perfect IB Mathematics IA topic is a critical step toward achieving a successful assessment.
